big trippy board or creepy and disturbing yet fun and happy picture that look good and psychedelic

ive been working on changing people perception of what they are looking at...so i was doddling away on day and something sudenly made sence to me..when i first started doodling on said page,i had a few skulls, some moterbikes and pig or two...but it all looked quite bare...but towards the end whn i was running out of room, everthing was brought together, and made it one big doodle as aposed to loads of small ones...so ive started to put together a board of little drawings, that waould,in want of a better word, look crap by them selfs...but will look fantastic if they are all stuck next to each other on a huge board...i mean like 100 drawings...i was thinking of even getting everyone to do a self portrait of themselfs in the year, and add that too it along with all the rest of my own drawings.so basicly,my audience wont look at the drawings as individual drawings, but as one large darwing in itself.

mr "I have two faces"

I also learned (from david shrigly) that text can make a huge difference...things can go from serious to funny in 2 seconds.

composition

i went to a seminar on composition..it helped me figure a few things out...
you have to give your audience something that fits, like music or somethings that goes well together...things need to have a relationship and be relevent to each other.
the concious act of putting things together ie. where you place the work in relation to size, how close/far it is from the border/frame...BUT you may sometimes choose to MAKE things look bigger , elonggated ot put of place to suit what it is your doing, witch goes back to it being relevent.

FILL YOUR SPACE.
for example:
whats the point in drawing an apple floating in space, either draw it bigger,or give it a surface a background.

size hugely matters, you could look a a life size sculpture of a cockroach...but would it not have 10 times more impact is it was the size of a civic?

frantic thinking 2

before i begin this post,i thought id put this ides in along with it :P I built a little trypitc with mirrors on each pannle, lets you see yourself from all angles when you hold it up to yourself.

do something similar to those canveses with the holes stabed in,or the blobs on...but video the proces..becase the ide is so simple..i could make bucket loads of them.

frantic thinking!

so i had this idea to line up canvases in a V sort of shape...like two on top one underneath..and what i wanted to do was paint them all black and stab the shit out of them with a knife covered in white paint.because i was trying to make painting showing frantic thinking,ie. messy head space...i didnt want to make the paint even or pretty...so i blobed it straight onto the canvas from the bottle...witch left a rele interesting blob, and im one for splatter paints,so i just left it like it was....likewize with the second canvas,i rubbed the paint straight from the bottle, using the tub as ameans of making a mark, again,an acident, but left it. for the third canvas i went with the origional idea of painting it the whole thing black, well almost the whole thing,i keept the edges rough and half painted to almost put a border around the black...then stabed the crap out of it with a knife i dipped in white paint.
im gona line them up how i had origionaly paned, and it looks way better then it would have had i not tryed out the first two ways. acident or not, they look great.

another way of making frantice thing was wraping cardbord in tinfoil (the reason i think of frantic thinking is because tinfoil is noisey and anoying and crumply etc) then painting it black, throwing white paint on it,cutting holes, adding the top of an orange juice carton...and what im going to do is line the tree of them above the canvases,i know its almost like im making fineshed peices...but the work im doin at the moment is more like 3d sketched...id much rated make these fucker HUGE!

differance a view point can make

i was thinking of view points and what i could do while i was walkin home, and i saw st johns catedral, and i have a bit of a facination with that spire, ive photographed it a million times, only thing i dont get sick of photographing..and i tought to myself,i taken pictures of the cathedral from pretty much everywhere you can see it from...but ive never taken a picture of anything,FROM the spire...im going to go and ask if i can take a few pictures from the top..hopefully they let me

lost in mirrors

after abandoining ship on the pipe parascope,i was sort of lost...mirror fragments all around me and no ideas..so i sat and made myself think of a way to merge mirrors with my idea of makeing the viewer look at certain places...
so whats the one thing people dont want a distorted view of? answer. themselfs...so thats exacctly what i decided to do...i cut loads of holes out of a board and put mirrors on certain parts, witch looked great, you can see yourself, but only bits, some parts still missing. something i want to further because of it simplicity..so if that goes pare shaped too i wont feel so bad :P

only problem now is,i left with these pipes cut at 45...whitch made me think of bankys trafic cones,so i had a mess around with that too, nothing serious come from it,yet.

the parascope

i managed to get my hands on some pipe to make the parascope with, cutting each end at 45 degree angle, now getting the actual frame together was easy...but fitting the mirrors was SUCH a nightmare. everytime i got one in place the other would fall...and this happened for days...so i eventualy walked away from using pipes for the parascope, and im going to make it out or a carton instead.

im keeping the pipes for another idea tho
